Another Summer Draws to a Close...

We've had to say farewell to friends and family up north once again and drag ourselves back to "normal" life. It really should be a criminal offense to start school Before Labor Day. District 6 are you listening?

Sam's new trick

So I asked Sam how he enjoyed his solo paddle back from Wickenor Manor and he replied "Not so fun, I had to go around the edge of the bay." (about 1km). I asked him what he'd do if he got swamped in the middle of the bay and he replied he'd just get back in the Kayak. Having wrestled with trying to learn self rescue techniques in the last week or so (unsuccessfully) I decided to call his bluff and offered him $5 if he could pull it off...
